Job Title: Principal Scientist - Drug Product Development

Just-Evotec Biologics is seeking a highly skilled Principal Scientist to lead a team of associates and scientists in drug product development for protein biologics and biosimilars. The successful candidate will be responsible for project and team leadership, formulation development, and process optimization.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a diverse team of associates and scientists in drug product development from pre-clinical to commercial stages.
  • Develop and optimize formulation strategies for protein biologics and biosimilars.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute stability studies and drug product manufacturing.
  • Provide technical expertise on formulation development for biologics and biosimilars.
  • Support successful drug product manufacturing through external CMOs.
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., biochemistry, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences) with 7+ years of experience or MS with 12+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong expertise in protein formulation, drug product process development, and drug delivery for biologics and biosimilars.
  • Experience in drug product development for commercialization, including risk assessments, process characterization, and validation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and practices, including IND/IMPD/BLA/MA sections and USP/Ph.Eur.
  • Experience with high-throughput automation and data systems.
  • Proven track record of scientific, management, and leadership skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The base pay range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000, with additional total rewards including discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits, and flexible work arrangements.
