Position Overview:
AVI-SPL is looking for a skilled Onsite Audio Visual Specialist (OAVS) who possesses extensive knowledge of collaborative technologies. This role involves acting as a key resource in audio-visual systems and collaboration tools, providing high-level expertise and testing services to enhance the effectiveness of our organization’s collaborative solutions. The OAVS will collaborate closely with technical teams to develop, assess, and support our collaboration platforms, ensuring smooth integration and peak performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive testing and evaluation of audio-visual systems, including video conferencing, instant messaging, and file-sharing applications.
- Work alongside technical teams to diagnose and resolve issues related to collaboration platforms.
- Design and implement testing strategies to verify compatibility and interoperability of collaboration solutions across various devices and software.
- Create and provide training materials, documentation, and knowledge resources on best practices and troubleshooting methods for collaboration technologies.
- Regularly review new software releases, updates, and patches to ensure compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
- The OAVS will be required to be present onsite at designated locations, with occasional visits to other sites as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the audiovisual or IT sector, particularly in collaboration technology.
- Thorough understanding of collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom, Webex, Microsoft Teams) and their functionalities and integrations.
- Proficient knowledge of control system technologies (e.g., QSC, Crestron, Extron, AMX).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring accurate record-keeping and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in the audiovisual or IT field (e.g., CTS-D, CTS-I).
- Understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP) and audio-visual signal processing.
- Familiarity with cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office setting as well as at client or construction sites. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers will be utilized. The work environment typically features moderate noise levels from inter-office conversations and equipment.
