Community Disaster Program Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Disaster Program Manager to join our team at the American Red Cross. As a key member of our disaster services program, you will be responsible for supervising the implementation of disaster services in an assigned geographic area, leading and supervising disaster program staff and volunteer teams, and managing government partnerships within the assigned area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support employee and volunteer teams responsible for disaster services programming throughout the assigned geographic area.
- Supervise employee(s) and implement disaster cycle services activities within the assigned geographic area.
- Develop and support disaster volunteers who are the primary workforce, representative of the communities they serve, both culturally and linguistically.
- Lead and coordinate efforts in the assigned geographic area to prepare and mobilize communities and engage partners with specific functional expertise and assets to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters and emergencies.
- Build relationships and collaborate in the matrix management environment with internal partners, including employees and volunteers.
- Act as the local Red Cross disaster subject matter expert within the assigned geographic area to maximize Red Cross presence and community engagement and mobilization.
- Initiate and coordinate disaster relief operations in the assigned geographic area, or functional activities in the region, in alignment with the Disaster Cycle Services Concept of Operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience.
- 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
