Medical Support Specialist

BioLife Plasma Services is a leading company in the plasma collection industry, committed to improving the lives of patients with rare diseases. As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma donations.
**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain a high level of customer service.
**Responsibilities**
+ Determine donor eligibility through proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
+ Conduct medical history interviews and physical examinations to assess donor suitability
+ Review laboratory test results to ensure donor safety
+ Notify donors of unsuitable test results and provide guidance on next steps
+ Manage donor adverse events in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
**Requirements**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate degree in nursing or related field preferred
+ Currently licensed or certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state where responsibilities will be assigned
+ Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification
+ Basic IV therapy skills required; advance training in phlebotomy and venipuncture an asset
+ Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialists
+ Two years' experience in a clinical or hospital setting
**Benefits**
We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary range of $23.85 - $32.79 per hour, depending on experience. U.S.-based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits. U.S.-based employees are also eligible to receive up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year and up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
