As a Medical Screener Specialist at our BioLife Plasma Center in Hampton, VA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of donors.

About the Role

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations. Your primary responsibilities will include screening new and repeat donors, taking and recording donor vital signs and finger stick results, and using our Donor Information System to prepare donor charts and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer phones and greet donors while ensuring the safety of donors and our team
  • Screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results
  • Use our Donor Information System to prepare donor charts and maintain accurate records
  • Help identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company-approved procedures
  • Be there for our donors, which includes working a variety of shifts, Saturdays and Sundays, and holidays
What You Bring

We are looking for individuals who possess high school diplomas or equivalent, with the ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift. You will also need to be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and have the physical ability to lift up to 5 lbs. and occasionally lift materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.

What We Offer

We offer a starting hourly wage of $16.00, and U.S.-based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits. You will also receive up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
