Position Summary:

The role of Customer Service Technician is essential within Windstream, representing our esteemed telecommunications brand that links residential customers, small businesses, large enterprises, and carrier partners across the nation. Our technicians are passionate about technology and committed to connecting customers with valuable products. By offering technical expertise and exceptional customer support, our Customer Service Technicians foster meaningful relationships that lead to long-term customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain communication services for both residential and business clients, including telephone, internet, and video services.
  • Utilize tools and testing equipment to deliver service across various technologies and network configurations.
  • Advise customers on products and services that meet their communication requirements.
  • Perform work in both underground and overhead environments, requiring skills in pole climbing and ladder usage.
  • Safely operate and keep the company service vehicle organized and clean.
  • Engage in both indoor and outdoor work settings.
  • Complete necessary safety training and adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Report directly to the Local Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Basic technology and mathematical skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to differentiate colors in color-coded cabling.
  • Capability to operate equipment with a maximum load capacity of 275 lbs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights.
  • Successful completion of required safety training.
  • Flexibility to work assigned schedules, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to respond to after-hours callouts.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service or sales.
  • Relevant certifications or training related to the position.
  • A two-year technical degree in computers or electronics, or equivalent work experience.

This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement, with wage rates and employment conditions subject to its terms. Individuals hired for this role will be represented by a union.
