Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Center Nurse to join our team at MedStar Health. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care from admission through discharge
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Anticipate and respond to the needs of surgical teams, ensuring timely and efficient case turnover
  • Maintain a sterile field and practice aseptic techniques to prevent infection
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, adhering to regulatory and accreditation standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing
  • 1-2 years of RN experience or 1 year of RN experience plus 5 years of LPN experience
  • Valid RN license in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia, or any combination as required based on work location(s)
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
