At MEDSTAR HEALTH, our 2C unit is a dynamic and challenging environment where nurses care for a diverse range of acutely ill medical-surgical and behavioral health adults and their families. Our patients present with a variety of diagnoses, including behavioral health conditions, making it an ideal setting for nurses to gain experience and develop a wide range of nursing skills.

Collaborative Care

Our nurses work closely with hospitalists, psychiatrists, medical-surgical residents, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. We strive to improve care for medical-surgical and behavioral health patients through evidence-based principles, tools, and education.

This 31-bed unit is an excellent place for nurses to become experts in medical-surgical nursing and develop a range of surgical nursing skills. Our staff is highly skilled, motivated, and committed to excellence, providing a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse at MEDSTAR HEALTH, you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families with complex needs. You will identify current and potential problems, analyze trends and changes in patient status, and plan appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications

  • A degree in nursing (ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL) from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
  • Prior clinical nursing experience is preferred.
  • An active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers are required.
