Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse to join our team at the MedStar Lafayette Surgery Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth and efficient surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to provide theory-based professional nursing care and coordinate care delivery with physicians and other healthcare team members.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Monitor and report patient progress, identifying and addressing any concerns or issues that may impact patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • At least one year of previous Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience.
  • Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
