Senior Cost Accountant Job Description

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our team in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, monthly balance sheet and P&L reviews, and leading the product cost process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate financial reporting and analysis
  • Monthly balance sheet and P&L reviews and analysis
  • Leading the product cost process, including request new product estimates and cost analysis
  • Asset investment analysis and project costing
  • Identifying transfer pricing and working closely with finance for trends, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Analyzing account trends and reviewing accounts for errors, completing adjustments when needed
  • Assisting in ERP implementation, testing, and process improvement
  • Completing monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc management reporting

Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of complex project cost accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, MBA is a plus
  • Major ERP system required, advanced Excel skills
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles
  • Auditing skills and ability to reconcile difficult accounts
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player who works well in a changing environment
