About the Role

Cincinnati Insurance Company, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales Representative - Territory Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our Sales and Marketing department, you will play a critical role in evaluating, assessing, and pricing risks while leading profitable growth for our agency partners in your territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting: Analyze risks, price, negotiate, and make informed decisions on commercial business.
  • Marketing: Sell and solicit business across all business units available within the territory to build a strong, diverse agency relationship.
  • Developing the Territory: Lead the territory in strategic plan development, ownership, and execution of enterprise-wide growth and profit within the territory, including new agency appointments.
  • Leading Agencies: Achieve deep relationships with and understanding of each assigned agency relationship to build a diverse and profitable portfolio, delivering on our vision to be the best company serving independent agents by consistently being present within agency offices.
  • Providing Leadership: Partner with and lead other field disciplines within designated agency relationships to ensure their success by communication, support, and collaboration with team members.
  • Researching the Market: Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, emerging risks, primary competitors, and effectively communicate and make informed decisions based on this information.
Requirements
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with agency partners.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Willingness to Travel: Willingness to travel and visit agencies within the territory regularly.
  • Strategic Business Plan Development Skills: Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans.
  • Passion for Leading: Passion for leading and developing others.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in underwriting, a minimum of 2 years of commercial underwriting experience, more than 3 years preferred.
  • Relevant Insurance Industry Certifications: Relevant insurance industry certifications (e.g., Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), professional selling) are a plus.
