Position: Surgical Technologist at Cleveland Clinic

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be essential in delivering tailored care to patients throughout the surgical process. Your duties will encompass maintaining a sterile environment, overseeing inventory, and adhering to established protocols to uphold the highest standards of patient care.
This full-time role typically involves working four 10-hour shifts, with occasional evening and weekend on-call responsibilities. While prior experience in Orthopedics is advantageous, it is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review daily tasks and ensure compliance with surgeon-specific preferences.
- Assess and prioritize patient care requirements based on individual circumstances.
- Plan care in accordance with procedures, standards, and physician preferences.
- Assist in maintaining a sterile environment and following safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively during surgical procedures and personnel transitions.
- Ensure the availability of necessary equipment and supplies for each operation.
- Collect and manage specimens as directed by the surgeon.
- Coordinate with the surgical team to maximize operating room efficiency.
Educational Requirements:
- Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of two years of experience in a multi-disciplinary operating room within an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Capability to lift and transport heavy items, patients, and equipment.
- Able to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be self-motivated and able to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
