We are a 13-bed ICU with a 4-bed surgical SICU at a Level 3 Trauma Hospital. Our unit is dedicated to innovation and process improvement, resulting in the best possible patient outcomes. We strive for excellence in workplace satisfaction, empowering all staff members to make decisions that impact the unit and patient care. These decisions include scheduling, staffing, workflow, infection prevention, patient care models, teaching educational classes, and multidisciplinary team peer reviews.
Our ICU patient population includes high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring and critical thinking. We are seeking experienced and new RNs who are willing to contribute to our exceptional team dynamic and culture. Additionally, we welcome RNs looking to increase their clinical knowledge and skills to improve health, instill humanity, and inspire hope for our patients.

Scope of WorkThe RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process to provide professional care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and procedures. The RN recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes, partnering with and utilizing patient/family input and goals in planning the plan of care and developing teaching strategies for patient/family education.

- Associates in Nursing is required.
- Bachelors in Nursing is required within 5 years for new graduates or nurses with less than one year of experience.
- Graduates from non-accredited schools of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
- AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- NRP within 6 months of hire/transfer is required.
- EFM Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification within 1 year is required.
- Specialty Certification is highly recommended within 2 years.
