PagerDuty is seeking a Senior Manager of Indirect Tax Compliance to enhance our dynamic, customer-centric team. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with essential business units such as FP&A, IT, Sales, Product, Legal, and Revenue Operations to refine and optimize processes for global expansion.

Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at multiple leadership levels to ensure compliance with global statutory and market entry requirements.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of indirect tax regulations and demonstrate a commitment to formulating and executing strategies that ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Oversee and manage global account reconciliations for indirect tax accounts, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting.
- Lead and facilitate indirect tax audits and inquiries, ensuring a seamless process while mitigating financial and reputational risks.
- Proactively identify indirect tax opportunities and assess intricate tax matters related to business growth, systems, and controls, providing independent recommendations and solutions to minimize risk.
- Support ERP transformation initiatives by driving the implementation of a global tax engine to accommodate ongoing global expansion and sales tax implications.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training materials on global VAT/GST/Sales tax, collaborating with key stakeholders to promote new processes, requirements, and policies.
- Manage relationships with external advisors delivering global indirect tax compliance services to guarantee accurate and timely filings.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship within the team.
- Lead cross-functional finance projects and process enhancements to boost efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of progressively advanced indirect tax experience in public accounting and/or industry, with in-depth knowledge of US domestic indirect taxes (Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax) and broad familiarity with international indirect tax (VAT/GST) laws and regulations.
- Proven track record of successfully leading finance projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Experience working across time zones and collaborating with team members in various geographic locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional audit certification - Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Master's degree in Taxation or LLM.
- Prior experience with tax compliance software such as Avalara or Vertex.
Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to manage and research complex indirect tax (VAT/GST) issues related to the cross-border movement of SaaS, significantly impacting the business.
- Proficient in optimizing software tools to enhance task efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills, capable of managing multiple responsibilities and personalities simultaneously.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaborative communication style, adept at working cross-functionally with individuals at various organizational levels and diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $142,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonuses, commissions, equity, and/or benefits.
