Medical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Fairfield Hospital. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing laboratory tests and analyzing results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine, moderate, and highly complex laboratory diagnostic tests.
- Confirm test results and provide data necessary for physicians to make informed decisions.
- Follow quality control programs to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Assist with training of new employees and students in the use of lab equipment and testing procedures.
- Perform computer functions on both Lab Information Systems (LIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
- Participate in continuing education in respective areas of expertise.
- Assist with inventory control.
- MLT Medical Laboratory Technician Certification or eligibility by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP).
- Associates, Medical Lab Technology degree or equivalent.
- 2 years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory setting (preferred).
Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. May be required to use physical restraints. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. May have periods of constant interruptions.
