Operations Manager Job Description

At Intermountain Express Transport Inc, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead our warehouse and driver teams, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Job Overview

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of our warehouse and driver crew. You will lead a team to achieve operational goals, maintain high performance standards, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and manage warehouse and driver teams, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
    • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
    • Develop and implement operational procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Employee Management:
    • Hire, train, and develop employees to build a skilled and motivated team.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Handle employee terminations when necessary, following company policies and procedures.
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Oversee day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Monitor and manage operational metrics, making data-driven decisions to improve performance.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure all operational activities comply with DOT regulations and company policies.
    • Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure operational excellence.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a management role, preferably in warehouse or logistics operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Prior experience in hiring, training, and managing employees.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of management experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
