Job Summary:

The Senior Center Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the KWA Senior Center. This role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing programs and activities that cater to the needs and interests of senior citizens, particularly Asian and immigrant populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development and Management: Plan, organize, and implement a diverse schedule of activities, classes, and events that promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of seniors.
  • Client Services and Support: Provide direct support to seniors, addressing their needs and concerns. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, encouraging participation among all members.
  • Resource Management: Manage the daily operations of the center, including scheduling, supplies, and facility maintenance. Coordinate with external vendors and partners to secure resources for programs and events.
  • Community and Partner Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, senior centers, and community groups to enhance program offerings and avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Reporting and Administration: Maintain accurate records of attendance, program participation, and client feedback. Prepare regular reports for the Social Service Manager on program outcomes and operational needs.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or foreign equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in non-profit organization or senior service field preferred.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of assigned community, including best ways for outreach. Good computer skills - data entry, MS Office, MS Excel, Outlook Calendar. Ability to produce quality written communications.
Working Conditions:

The Senior Center Coordinator will work in an office environment and may be required to travel to different locations. The position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, standing, bending, reaching, twisting, and traveling.
