Position Overview

Under the guidance of supervisory staff, you will engage in various responsibilities associated with daily optical lab functions, production, and managing patient orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service by effectively communicating with patients and vendors regarding any delays or issues with lens orders.
  • Procure lenses and frames from designated laboratories or vendors in accordance with vision plans.
  • Handle shipping tasks, ensuring timely processing of sensitive shipments and maintaining accurate records.
  • Receive and organize incoming frames and lenses into appropriate in-house trays or dispatch to external labs as required.
  • Regularly monitor orders for delays or back orders, proactively addressing and resolving any issues.
  • Manage inventory tasks, including stocking lenses, sorting and distributing trays, pulling lenses, and conducting cosmetic inspections as necessary.
  • Assist in ordering lab supplies, collaborating with vendors for consumables, troubleshooting issues, and creating lenses for eyewear.
  • Support the efficient workflow within the department.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and maintain a tidy workstation.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed.
  • Comply with quality management and safety standards, systems, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
  • One to two years of relevant experience.
  • Capability to meet departmental productivity and quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills necessary for task completion.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, and lifting.
  • Ability to distinguish and recognize colors.
  • Understanding of and adherence to procedures.
  • Capacity to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Willingness to stand or walk for extended periods.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, this position may offer eligible bonuses and commissions.
