Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical security controls, identifying and remediating vulnerabilities, and providing cybersecurity expertise to software development and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Technical Security Controls: Develop and implement technical security controls to protect our systems and data from cyber threats.
  • Identify and Remediate Vulnerabilities: Identify vulnerabilities in our systems and develop and implement plans to remediate them.
  • Provide Cybersecurity Expertise: Provide cybersecurity expertise to software development and operations teams to ensure the security of our systems and data.
  • Implement Plans of Action and Milestones: Develop and implement plans of action and milestones to ensure the security of our systems and data.
  • Validate and Verify System Security Requirements: Validate and verify system security requirements to ensure that our systems and data are secure.
  • Identify and Implement Appropriate Information Security Architectures: Identify and implement appropriate information security architectures to ensure the security of our systems and data.
  • Communicate with Program Managers and Customer POCs: Communicate with program managers and customer POCs regarding security issues of significant importance.
  • Participate in Agile Team Activities: Participate in agile team activities as necessary.
  • Analyze and Assess System Implementation: Analyze and assess system implementation against multiple security compliance policies and recommend and implement enhancements.
  • Evaluate Security Solutions: Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet customer-specified requirements for processing information.
  • Evaluate the Impact of New Development: Evaluate the impact of new development on the operational security posture of the system.
  • Audit and Assess System Security Configuration Settings: Audit and assess system security configuration settings using common methodologies and tools.
  • Review System Security Audit Logs: Review system security audit logs and take corrective action as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD; 10 years in lieu of degree.
  • Experience: Experience in security systems engineering.
  • Skills: Able to collaborate effectively with a group of high-performing, technical individuals, and possess the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing. Possess a general knowledge of Linux and Windows OSs. Demonstrate experience with creating and validating evidence for A&A security controls. TS SCI with poly.
  • Desired Qualifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Possess a strong desire to learn and develop processes to improve the overall security of the environment. Experience with enterprise security scanning tools. Able to work in an Agile environment using project sprints and Agile Boards. Experience with Amazon Web Services cloud computing environments. Experience performing reviews, technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations and recommend mitigation strategies.
