Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and intellectually inquisitive Software DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will design and develop components and systems (hardware and software) for our surgical robotic systems, ensuring safety and efficacy requirements are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and Operational Excellence
    • Implement, maintain, and improve CI/CD processes in a software + hardware environment.
    • Develop automation scripts for provisioning and operating infrastructure at scale.
    • Collaborate with the development team to ensure software and infrastructure reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Infrastructure Management
    • Administer, monitor, and deploy applications and platforms.
    • Monitor systems for availability, performance, and health. Respond to system incidents and participate in root-cause analyses.
  • Security and Compliance
    • Ensure infrastructure security through the use of best practices and compliance policies.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry security threats and ensure our systems remain secure.
  • Documentation and Training
    • Document comprehensive DevOps, architectures, tools, and processes, in a complete and timely manner.
    • Train and mentor other team members on best practices in DevOps and tool usage.

Requirements:

  • Education
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills
    • Operating Systems: Proven proficiency in working with Linux OS is a must.
    • Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages like Python, Bash, or other relevant languages.
    • Robotics Related: Familiarity with platforms like ROS and middleware like DDS.
    • Database: Proficiency in design, implementation, and maintenance of relational database systems.
    • Cloud Related: AWS or equivalent.
  • Experience
    • Hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools and scripting languages.
    • Demonstrated experience to maintain high availability of critical systems.
  • Knowledge
    • Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub CI, Jenkins).
    • Deep knowledge of server administration including installation, configuration, security, and troubleshooting.
    • Knowledge of clinical imaging systems standards, particularly DICOM.
    • Strong understanding of system monitoring tools.
    • Proficiency with tools like Git/JIRA/Confluence and platforms like GitHub.
  • Soft Skills
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
    • Good communication skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers.
