NICU Team Lead

This is a challenging role as NICU Team Lead and Patient Care Specialist at The Woman's Hospital of Texas, where you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during designated shifts. You will collaborate with other members of the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures.
Responsibilities:- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
- Participate in ongoing assessments of quality of patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other management team members.
- Cultivate an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service, collaborating with subject matter experts and other managers.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Operationalize current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives to improve engagement.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, implementing courses of action for training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum of one year of NICU experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
- NRP.
