Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transplant Surgeon to join our team at VCU Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional clinical care, advancing the field of science through research, and training undergraduate and graduate students in transplant surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Develop and deliver educational programs for residents and medical students in transplant surgery.
  • Research: Establish and conduct clinical research projects, publish in refereed journals, and secure external funding.
  • Service: Participate in departmental and university committees, review manuscripts, and organize conferences.
  • Clinical: Perform deceased and living donor kidney and liver transplantation, pancreas transplantation, and dialysis access procedures.
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in transplant surgery.
  • ASTS fellowship training in multi-organ transplantation and procurement.
  • UNOS certification or eligibility.
  • Prior experience teaching residents and medical students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board certification in general surgery.
  • Training in robotic surgery.
