Self-Help for the Elderly seeks a skilled Medi-Cal Biller/Accountant I to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing and financial reporting for our MSSP program. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage Medi-Cal claims, including Care Management, Care Support, and Waiver Services.
- Monitor and review Waiver Services provided to clients to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct pre-billing audits to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Generate financial reports, including revenues, expenses, and accounts receivable and collections.
- Communicate with the MSSP team to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payment.
- Verify Medi-Cal eligibility for new referrals and manage vendor contracts.
- Assist with fiscal audits and CDA audits, as well as other administrative support duties.
- Attend department and agency meetings to stay informed and contribute to team discussions.
Requirements:
- Experience in Medi-Cal billing, eligibility verification, and claim status is preferred.
- Associate degree in a related field, such as Medi-Cal billing, coding, or health information management, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and the Internet, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
- Ability to pass a background check and maintain confidentiality.
