About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Mechanic to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our Design and Construction department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient execution of construction projects across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to develop and implement project plans.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure efficient use of time, materials, and personnel.
  • Ensure that all construction activities are conducted in a safe and controlled manner, minimizing disruptions to hospital operations.
  • Coordinate with hospital departments to ensure that construction projects are completed with minimal impact on patient care and staff operations.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including OSHA and Joint Commission standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on commercial or healthcare settings.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including hospital staff, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Working Conditions

  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina required for frequent site visits and construction activities.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental hazards associated with construction sites.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
