Job Summary

Nuvance Health is seeking a highly skilled Infection Control and Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our infection control team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and protocols to minimize hospital-acquired infections within our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement infection control and prevention policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Monitor and track process and outcome indicators related to infection prevention and control standards
  • Investigate clusters of infections and collaborate with the Director of Infection Control and Prevention to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Provide consultative services to staff, patients, and visitors on infection control and prevention matters
  • Develop and maintain interfaces and communication with senior leadership, performance improvement, nursing practice councils, clinical leadership, construction, renovations, and environmental services for aspects related to infection prevention and control standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in infection control in an acute care setting
  • Minimum of two (2) years previous management/supervisory experience
  • Leadership, communication, presentation, and computer skills
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, OSHA, AIA, NY DOH regulatory requirements related to infection control
Working Conditions

This position requires a medium to heavy effort, with some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc. Little or no potential for occupational risk.
