Staff Accountant

MPX Careers invites applications from talented professionals for the role of Staff Accountant. The estimated annual compensation for this position is $80,000 - $100,000, based on market rates and regional factors.

Job Summary:

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable, including invoice entry, payment runs, and corporate credit card reconciliations.
  • Process and reconcile accounts receivable, daily bank reconciliations, and client payments.
  • Support the accounting team with client billing processes.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end financial close procedures and prepare general ledger schedules.
  • Analyze and interpret financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Provide backup payroll processing services and generate financial reports.

Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
  • Understanding of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Prior experience in payroll processing is advantageous.
  • NetSuite expertise is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to collaborate, and dedication to excellence.
  • Willingness to adapt to new processes and technologies.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and reconciliation abilities.
  • Natural curiosity and ability to ask insightful questions.
  • Capacity to learn and develop expertise in financial systems.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required.

Education and Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in general ledger accounting.
