Position Overview:

As a Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare team, providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine services. This position requires a professional who is licensed across all scopes of practice as outlined by the relevant health authorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and complex nuclear medicine procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Ensure safety protocols are adhered to within the acute care environment, collaborating effectively with anesthesia and other patient care departments.
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze biological specimens, ensuring accurate data preparation for interpretation.
  • Conduct radiation safety and quality control measures on all nuclear medicine equipment as mandated by departmental guidelines.
  • Engage in the orientation and training of new staff, students, and residents, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives.

Advanced Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate leadership and coordination in specialty procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols.
  • Engage in annual performance improvement projects and quality assurance meetings.
  • Instruct and mentor others in multiple specialty procedures.
  • Participate actively in research protocol development and maintenance.

Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CTNM) from NMTCB or ARRT (N).
  • Valid California state license as a Certified Technologist in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Current BLS (CPR) certification.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to cover various shifts and locations.
  • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine training program.
  • Minimum experience requirements: 3 years for Senior Technologist and 7 years for Principal Technologist.
