Job Title: Adult Inpatient Shift Supervisor

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Inpatient Shift Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our inpatient unit, you will play a crucial role in supervising and supporting Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to ensure the smooth operation of our services.

Responsibilities:
  • Hiring and Supervision: Supervise BHTs in their work, including training, coaching, evaluating, and disciplining as needed. Provide regular individual supervisions and document interactions.
  • Unit and Milieu Staffing: Conduct ongoing assessments of milieu acuity and client risk, collaborating with staff to ensure effective de-escalation and use of least restrictive alternatives. Ensure adequate staffing per shift and oversee client admissions.
  • Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree and 2 years relevant work experience, or Associates degree and 4 years relevant work experience. Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration required.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field. 1 year experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor, relevant experience working in residential or inpatient treatment setting.

Performance Requirements: Maintain a working knowledge of verbal de-escalation skills, unit policies, and procedures. Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a team member.

Work Environment: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods. Mental/Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, ascend and descend stairs, talk or listen and lift up to 50 pounds.
