Position Overview:

The Agricultural Loan Specialist will oversee an established portfolio of Commercial Agriculture loans while actively pursuing new lending opportunities within the agricultural sector. This role necessitates the ability to proficiently assess, structure, and finalize various types of Commercial Agriculture loans in alignment with the organization's defined policies and procedures. The Agricultural Loan Specialist must apply sound judgment throughout the lending process.

This position involves significant interaction with clients and encompasses all operational duties related to Commercial Agriculture loans in the designated market. The Agricultural Loan Specialist is tasked with staying informed about the organization's lending policies as well as State and Federal regulations governing lending practices.

The classification of this role is determined by the candidate's experience, educational background, and relevant skills.

Key Responsibilities:

To excel in this position, an individual must successfully fulfill each of the following responsibilities:
  1. Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  2. Possess a comprehensive understanding of regulations that govern lending activities.
  3. Maintain an innovative approach to foster continuous improvement and customer retention.
  4. Facilitate Commercial Agriculture loan transactions and assist with inquiries related to these transactions.
  5. Analyze financial documents, including statements, cash flows, payment histories, and tax returns.
  6. Present loan applications for approval to the relevant authority as necessary.
  7. Proactively seek new Commercial Agriculture loan clients for the organization.
  8. Demonstrate effective prioritization of tasks.
  9. Process loan applications and make decisions to approve or decline requests in accordance with established policies.
  10. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements concerning safety, compliance, and operational standards.
  11. Build referral networks, recommend alternative channels, and promote cross-selling of products and services to achieve organizational objectives.
  12. Exhibit strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  13. Understand general business and financial concepts.
  14. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  15. Be a self-motivated individual capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  16. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate positive relationships with colleagues and other personnel.
  17. Provide assistance to colleagues as needed.
  18. A valid Driver's License is required for this position.

  21. Travel for industry-related training and seminars may be required.
  22. This role may necessitate the installation of a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) application on a personal mobile device for security verification.
  23. Adhere to all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and organizational policies, including those related to BSA/AML compliance.
  24. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Required: High School diploma or GED.

Required: Ongoing education to enhance job knowledge.

Required: Three to five years of experience in banking.

Preferred: Three to five years of experience in customer service.

Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
