Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and Review Tax Returns: Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct Tax Research: Conduct tax research and analysis to identify opportunities for tax savings and minimize tax liabilities for clients.
  • Provide Tax Planning Advice: Assist clients with tax planning strategies, including evaluating the tax implications of business transactions, investments, and estate planning.
  • Stay Up-to-Date on Tax Laws: Stay up-to-date on changes to tax laws and regulations, advising clients on the potential impact of legislative developments on their tax obligations.
  • Client Support: Provide guidance and support to clients during tax audits, respond to inquiries from tax authorities, and assist with the resolution of tax issues.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, earning their trust and confidence through professionalism, expertise, and excellent service.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination of tax services and deliverables for clients.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and train junior staff members, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and expertise in tax accounting.
Requirements:
  • CPA Designation: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in tax preparation software (Thomson Reuters a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite, & QB.
  • Commitment to Ethics: Commitment to ethical and professional standards in tax accounting.
