Tax Manager Job Description

Puro Accountancy is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing tax compliance and planning for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely preparation and review of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
  • Provide Tax Advice: Offer expert tax guidance to clients on various matters, including income tax, estate tax, and international tax.
  • Develop Tax Strategies: Create and implement tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities for clients.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Maintain in-depth knowledge of tax regulations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Manage Tax Audits: Assist in the management of tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments: Work with other departments to integrate tax strategies with clients' overall financial plans.
  • Mentor Junior Staff: Train and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and technical support.
  • Build Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering proactive tax solutions tailored to their individual or business needs.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's in Taxation or CPA preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in tax management, ideally in a public accounting or financial services environment.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of tax regulations and compliance at the federal, state, and local levels, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
