About the Role

The Learning and Development Specialist will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. This specialist will work closely with school staff, families, and general education teachers to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement IEPs that meet diverse learning requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and regularly update IEP goals
  • Evaluate students' strengths and growth areas through regular assessments
  • Collaborate with educators and families to adapt curriculum and teaching methods as needed
  • Foster a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A valid Illinois teaching certification in Special Education
  • Strong skills in communication, organization, and teamwork
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Prior experience working with children with special needs (preferred)
