The technician will be tasked with diagnosing, repairing, reconditioning, overhauling, and maintaining customer heavy machinery and its components. This role may require travel to various locations to service equipment as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair engines and components of heavy machinery.
- Interpret schematics, both electrical and hydraulic.
- Prepare detailed inspection and appraisal reports.
- Accurately charge work to the appropriate work order segments.
- Submit complete and timely service reports.
- Communicate effectively with Service Writers and Shop Managers regarding repairs and their status.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve shop and company objectives.
- Maintain, clean, and repair equipment and components.
- Disassemble, assemble, and install various components and parts.
- Order replacement parts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Test, measure, and adjust systems and components of engines and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions and failures in machinery and engines.
- Stay updated on advancements in tools, technologies, and systems.
- Adhere to safe working practices and comply with all safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical systems, drive trains, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems.
- High School Diploma or GED; completion of an accredited technical program in diesel engine or heavy equipment repair is preferred.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Effective and professional communication skills with customers.
