The Aerial Laborer is a key member of our team, responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to telecommunications construction. This includes loading, driving, and delivering construction materials and equipment, as well as digging, removing, and placing various types of materials and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment and planning skills, knowledge of telecommunications networks, and the ability to work independently with a high degree of drive and motivation.
Responsibilities:- Perform all phases of telecommunication construction, including loading, driving, and delivering construction materials and equipment.
- Hand dig using shovel and mechanical tools.
- Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling.
- Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
- Work in congested or remote areas, maintaining visual and audible contact with other crew members and moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
- Perform general construction work under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor.
- Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.
- Learn all aspects of the crew and assist the operator and foreman as assigned.
- Setup, preparation, and cleanup of construction sites.
- Develop an understanding of buried utilities.
- Lift heavy equipment and supplies.
- Ability to work with hands and provided tools to accomplish job tasks from management.
- Ability to read, understand, and prepare drawings, diagrams, and other documents.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of Telecom, Fiber, Utility, etc.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Idaho Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment.
- Candidates must pass Criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
- Authorization to work in the US.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and may be subject to adverse conditions such as high humidity, high temperatures, high wind, extreme cold, rain, sleet, and snow.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
