Job Summary:

As a Certified Senior Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers and patients, providing assistance with products and services, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Develop strong relationships with valuable customers and assist in the practice of pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct and perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager.
  • Assist in scheduling and maintaining work flow, reporting prescription errors, and adhering to Company policies and procedures.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required, and take customers to OTC aisle to assist in locating products.
  • Process manual claims for third party program prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Lead Pharmacy Department inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
  • Assist and support Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy financial, customer service, and inventory performance data.
  • May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required.
  • Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers.
  • Support execution of Pickup program and assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
  • Coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the correct use of processes and tools to drive efficiency within the pharmacy.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.


Requirements:

  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Prefer basic level PC skills (for example: start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and/or access information online).
  • Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.
