Role Responsibilities:
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of Medicare to assist patients in navigating their insurance options.
- Act as a key resource within the clinic for insurance-related inquiries from healthcare providers and staff.
- Support patients in maneuvering through the healthcare system and advocate for them in resolving medical billing issues.
- Establish and nurture trusting relationships with patients to effectively guide them in their healthcare coverage decisions.
- Oversee welcome visits and orientation for new patients joining Oak Street Health.
- Assist patients in applying for public assistance programs, including Public Aid and prescription drug support.
- Collaborate with clinic management on operational tasks, including scheduling and billing as required.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure a superior patient experience.
- Encourage patient involvement through the planning and execution of events, such as center tours.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile:
We seek enthusiastic individuals who possess:
- A proactive problem-solving mindset and a positive, adaptable demeanor.
- A willingness to contribute to the development and enhancement of our operational model.
- Preferred experience in sales, though not mandatory.
- A supportive attitude towards our older adult patient demographic.
- Familiarity with the relevant patient population.
- Preferred background in community health.
- Strong computer skills.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages commonly spoken in our service areas is preferred.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
