Job Summary

Join Banner Health as a Behavioral Health Specialist on our Adolescent Nights unit. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct care to psychiatric patients, working under the direction of a registered nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include providing basic nursing care, orienting patients to the treatment setting, and assisting with activities of daily living. You will also review and participate in the implementation of patient treatment plans, make rounds, and monitor patient activities and physical and mental status.

Responsibilities
  • Provides basic nursing care to patients, including technical monitoring, taking vital signs, and physical care.
  • Orients patients to the treatment setting and assists with activities of daily living as needed.
  • Reviews and participates in the implementation of patient treatment plans.
  • Makes rounds and monitors patient activities, physical and mental status, and reports to nursing staff.
  • Checks patient belongings for contraband and conducts patient safety monitoring activities.
  • Documents observations, interventions, and group activities in the patient medical record while maintaining confidentiality of all health information.
Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual with a Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health-related field or a High School diploma or equivalent with 1 year of direct patient care in an inpatient behavioral health setting. You must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of your employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
