About the Role:

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a skilled Surgical Tech II to join our team in the operating room. As a Surgical Tech II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
  • Pass instruments to the physician during surgery and account for the number and location of instruments and supplies.
  • Receive and process specimens for delivery to the laboratory.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a School of Surgical Technology.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Requires the cognitive ability and practical ability to provide nursing care appropriate to the patient population assigned.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Certification as a Surgical Tech required; must be Licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine as a Surgical Tech.
