Position Overview:

As a Project Management Consultant with a focus on higher education, you will be instrumental in directing projects for educational institutions. Your proficiency in consulting, strategic development, and stakeholder collaboration will be essential for achieving successful project results. Below are the primary responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Development and Implementation:
  • Create comprehensive project plans that outline objectives, deliverables, necessary resources, budget considerations, and timelines.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met with high-quality outcomes.
  1. Client Collaboration:
  • Engage with clients, including foundations, to ascertain their requirements and aspirations.
  • Provide updates on project status, address any issues, and maintain open lines of communication.
  1. Equity and Inclusion Focus:
  • Incorporate an equity perspective into project management, emphasizing the needs of underrepresented groups and fostering inclusive practices.
  • Utilize effective communication strategies to create welcoming environments.
  1. Risk Assessment:
  • Recognize and mitigate potential risks that may hinder project success.
  • Formulate backup plans as necessary.
  1. Leadership and Team Management:
  • Oversee project teams, ensuring optimal collaboration and resource distribution.
  • Conduct team meetings and offer direction as needed.

  • Guide strategic initiatives, including assessments, planning, and execution.
  • Collaborate closely with boards and key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education, with a background in consulting for colleges or their foundations.
  • Proven experience in consulting roles specifically targeting foundations.
  • Demonstrated ability in community engagement and building initiatives.
  • Experience in supporting marginalized communities.
  • Capacity to approach decisions with an equity-focused mindset, ensuring inclusivity.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong facilitation abilities for leading discussions and workshops.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with working alongside Boards of Directors or similar governing entities.
