Position Summary: As a Campaign Petition Specialist, you will be instrumental in our electoral initiative by gathering signatures to ensure our candidate's presence on the ballot. Your contributions will significantly influence the democratic process and support the overall success of our campaign. This role is temporary and focused on a specific timeframe leading up to the election.

Work Schedule: Flexible hours required, including evenings and weekends.
The Voter Education Project is looking for candidates for a Petition Gathering role. This entry-level position is ideal for college students or community leaders seeking to advance their careers and gain valuable experience. Responsibilities may include setting up and managing petition signing stations, organizing and maintaining all necessary materials for signature collection, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of collected signatures, including names and contact information. Familiarity with local election laws and regulations regarding petition gathering is essential, as is ensuring all signatures collected are valid and meet specified criteria.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Detail-oriented and motivated.
- Experience in grassroots campaigning (participation in at least two initiatives).
- Familiarity with petitioning tools and software.
Your Responsibilities:
- Exceed key performance indicators for signature collection.
- Engage and mobilize communities within your designated area.
- Participate in briefing sessions and team meetings.
- Build meaningful connections within the community.
- Exhibit punctuality and reliability.
Essential Qualifications:
- Basic literacy skills (ability to read and explain the petition).
- Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
- Completion of secondary education (high school diploma or GED).
- Able to remain on your feet for the duration of the workday.
Desirable Attributes:
- Prior experience in petition drives or canvassing.
- Understanding of strategic community engagement and petition campaign metrics.
- Familiarity with the local area, including demographics and key issues.
Compensation: $22/hour
