Your Responsibilities:

  1. Manage Internal Medicine patient referrals, ensuring comprehensive care coordination for hospitalized patients, including:
  • Admission and placement within the facility
  • Case management and resource utilization
  • End-of-life discussions
  • Consultations with specialists
  • Proactive discharge planning
  • Coordination with primary care and consulting physicians
Act as the Medicine consultant for Surgical and other specialties, providing timely consultations across the hospital.Participate in the Adult Hospitalist Program's on-call coverage, available 24/7 for urgent and routine requests.Perform necessary medical procedures as required for optimal patient care.Engage in quality improvement initiatives, including:
  • Participation in medical staff meetings and quality committees
  • Leadership in clinical pathway development
  • Collaboration with resource coordinators and discharge planners
Maintain strong relationships with colleagues and contribute to enhancing patient and provider satisfaction.Ensure compliance with medical records standards and hospital policies.Participate in third-party payer agreements as necessary.Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Adult Hospitalist Medical Director.

Education:

Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Board certification is required. Successful completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is essential.

Experience:

1 to 3 years of experience as a board-certified Adult Hospitalist Physician is required, with demonstrated competency in managing at least 60 hospital patients, including emergency department evaluations and admissions, within the last two years.

Licenses/Certification:

A current, unrestricted medical license to practice in Oregon and current DEA certification are mandatory.
