Your Role:

Salem Health is seeking a qualified Obstetrician to enhance our established hospital-based OB Hospitalist team.

The OB Hospitalist team operates on both 12 and 24-hour shifts, providing essential coverage and playing a vital role in our unit's culture, overseeing perinatal safety with approximately 3,400 births annually at Salem Health. Key responsibilities include:

  • Attending deliveries and managing OB triage for unassigned patients.
  • Supporting established practices with inpatient care and assisting in surgical procedures as required.
  • Providing backup to certified nurse midwives and family medicine practitioners.
  • Assuming responsibility for unassigned patients and overseeing hospital transfers.

Salem Hospital is equipped with 24-hour in-house anesthesia coverage, consultative maternal-fetal medicine services, a high-risk antepartum unit, and a Level III NICU.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a board-certified or board-eligible OBGYN Physician, or completion of a Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship program.
  • A current, unrestricted medical license to practice in Oregon.
  • Board Certification in Obstetrics from the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • For applicants not yet Board Certified, certification must be obtained within five years of completing the relevant Residency and/or Fellowship program.
  • Demonstrated experience and current competency, including at least 50 deliveries in the past 24 months.

*These benefits are based on a full-time position and will be prorated according to FTE.
