Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and modify staffing needs to uphold the highest standards of service quality for our clients, while minimizing unnecessary overtime or excessive labor costs.
- Supervise all managerial activities, including the development and coaching of supervisors and coordinators; ensure consistent application of metrics and system tools in line with operational performance review standards.
- Act as a bridge between Account Managers and operational personnel regarding all policy and procedure modifications or implementations; investigate significant issues to identify root causes and corrective actions, and initiate incident reports when required.
- Coordinate all changes to procedures and documentation, adhere to all quality policies and protocols, participate in mandatory quality meetings, and ensure that all quality initiatives are effectively communicated to the entire operational team.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with the operations team and System Engineers to create specifications and implement changes.
- Analyze quantitative data and apply professional judgment to resolve issues.
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure adherence; actively engage as a departmental representative in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and policy development and administration.
- Collaborate with HR and upper management on disciplinary matters and implement corrective actions; actively participate in the hiring and/or termination processes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in logistics and/or transportation is preferred but not mandatory.
- A Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to quickly acquire proficiency in new software applications.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting clear, organized, and comprehensive information and data suitable for the intended audience.
- Ability to conduct complex analyses of data, processes, policies, procedures, and/or systems; produce clear, comprehensive, and accurate interpretations.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
