Education Requirement: High school diploma or GED; experience in early childhood preferred.


POSITION SUMMARY: This role involves both direct and indirect supervision and education of young children. The individual will implement goals and objectives outlined in care plans, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children's growth and learning.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards for early childhood programs.
  • Maintain an environment that meets ITERS/ECERS standards, achieving a rating of 4 or higher in designated classrooms.
  • Assist in executing care plans by adhering to data collection procedures and documenting daily progress.
  • Supervise children consistently to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with parents and staff to create a positive and effective atmosphere.
  • Monitor children's records to ensure only authorized individuals can pick them up.
  • Engage actively with children to promote their development.
  • Report any discrepancies in staff/child ratios to the supervisor immediately.
  • Complete required documentation and progress notes promptly.
  • Collect developmental data on assigned children as needed.
  • Maintain certifications in Infant/Toddler CPR, First Aid, and Infection Control, serving as the First Responder for preschool activities.
  • Ensure accurate timesheet submissions reflecting hours worked.
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Complete a minimum of 15 hours of professional development annually, with additional requirements for specific classrooms.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, such as supervising car riders or assisting with morning and aftercare.
  • Engage in parent-related activities as scheduled.
  • Report any signs of abuse or neglect to a supervisor immediately.
  • Follow the established chain of command for reporting issues.
  • Adhere to company policies and licensing requirements for childcare.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for candidates with early childhood experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence. Capable of writing basic correspondence and effectively presenting information in small group settings.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret simple data.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various forms of instructions.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires regular use of hands, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
