Position Summary

In the role of Senior Maintenance Technician, you will guide service technicians in the installation and maintenance of automated packaging and distribution systems. You will collaborate with the Operations Maintenance team to devise solutions for complex challenges and oversee projects. Additionally, you will assist in training and mentoring both service and contract technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols
  • Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of all conveyor systems within the facility
  • Lead and review preventative maintenance practices
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, and more
  • Create and finalize work orders with detailed data including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts utilized
  • Foster positive working relationships across all operational areas
  • Develop training programs for service technicians
  • Formulate work plans for urgent repairs of critical assets

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls
  • 5+ years of experience with electrical and electronic principles, National Electrical Code (NEC), and industrial electronics
  • 5+ years of experience in preventative maintenance
  • 5+ years of experience interpreting blueprints and schematics
  • 5+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programming
  • 3+ years of experience in work order management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher from a vocational institution or college with a focus on Mechanical or Electrical disciplines
  • 4+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Electrical fields
  • Previous experience in a leadership role
  • Experience managing vendor relationships
  • Familiarity with robotic maintenance

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Ability to kneel, squat, climb ladders, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs. of equipment
  • Capability to perform tasks while wearing a mask, face shield, and composite-toed boots
  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment
  • Involves movement across departments, floors, and properties, potentially covering 6 to 12 miles daily
  • Work in environments with varying temperatures
  • Regularly required to use a computer for 1-2 hours daily
