Staff Performance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Performance Engineer to join our team at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), a leading global financial institution. As a Staff Performance Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Commvault backup solutions to ensure data protection and recovery for our organization.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Commvault snapshot technology and be able to develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies that ensure robust data protection and business continuity across cloud environments and on-premises data centers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing Commvault backup and recovery strategies
  • Utilizing deep knowledge of Commvault snapshot technology for efficient database backups
  • Collaborating with database administrators to ensure backup solutions meet business requirements for data protection, availability, and compliance
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex issues related to Commvault backup and recovery systems
  • Performing regular performance assessments of the Commvault infrastructure

As a Staff Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our data protection systems and will work closely with our IT team to implement proactive monitoring and maintenance strategies.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Commvault in an operational/engineering role, including extensive knowledge of Commvault HyperScale X technology and snapshot management for database backups.

Proficiency in AWS cloud services, architecture, and data protection best practices.

Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly within a hybrid IT landscape and in database backup and recovery scenarios.

Relevant certifications in Commvault, AWS, or related fields are highly desirable.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.

This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
