We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for Avionics Systems to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies that will take us to Mars and beyond.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $115,000 and $135,000, depending on experience. Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work on designing avionics systems for our Starship program. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for Avionics Systems, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for our avionics systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and performance.

You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet our project goals, including thermal, structural, and tolerance analysis using hand calculations and finite element analysis. You will also participate in initial mechanical design, 3D modeling, creation of production drawings, and maintenance of design data.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience with mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Experience with CAD and FEA software packages
  • Proficient and frequent use of hand calculations, finite element analyses (FEA), and computer-aided designs (CAD)
