Job Title: Patient Advocate

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Advocate to join our team. As a Patient Advocate, you will play a critical role in connecting uninsured hospital patients with programs that cover their medical expenses.

Job Summary:

The Patient Advocate will serve as a liaison between patients, hospitals, and government agencies, ensuring that patients receive the necessary assistance to cover their medical expenses. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance
  • Complete applications and follow through until approved
  • Document cases accurately and timely in company programs and hospital systems
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and hospital staff
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay up-to-date on government programs and regulations
  • Maintain a structured and timely contact with patients and government agencies
  • Assist patients with gathering additional reports or records, meeting appointment dates and times, and arranging transportation as needed
  • Request home visits as necessary to acquire documentation
  • Inform patients of all approvals and denials of coverage in a timely manner
Requirements:
  • Some college coursework preferred
  • Prior hospital or medical office experience is an advantage
  • Adaptability when dealing with changing processes, computer systems, and government programs
  • Professional experience working with state and federal programs
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment

The salary for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including internal equity, experience, education, location, specialty, and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
