Position Overview:

We are excited to announce an opening for a Labor and Litigation Legal Assistant in our Cleveland office. This hybrid position offers flexibility for remote work.

The Labor & Employment team is seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant who is eager to become an integral part of our collaborative environment. This role is ideal for those looking to take on significant responsibilities and work alongside a progressive group of attorneys in one of the nation's leading law firms.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Draft, edit, and proofread a variety of legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and policy manuals.
  2. Assist in the creation of training materials for client presentations and seminars.
  3. Support trial preparation activities, including scheduling depositions and organizing exhibits.
  4. Maintain knowledge of state and federal filing procedures and e-filing systems.
  5. Organize and manage client and administrative files in accordance with firm protocols.
  6. Utilize workflow management systems to oversee assignments and maintain an organized workload.
  7. Coordinate appointments and manage attorney calendars efficiently.
  8. Track and enter billable hours in compliance with firm guidelines.
  9. Conduct initial conflict checks and manage client matter openings and closings.
  10. Monitor case deadlines and collaborate with the Docket Department to ensure compliance.
  11. Arrange travel logistics and manage expense tracking for timely reimbursements.
  12. Provide professional communication to clients and colleagues, ensuring a high level of service.

Additional Duties:

  1. Actively participate in the practice group support team.
  2. Complete the Legal Technology Core Competencies Certification Coalition (LTC4) Program.
  3. Stay updated on firm systems and practices.
  4. May require occasional overtime or weekend work.
  5. Perform other office support tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a High School Diploma and a minimum of three years of experience in labor and litigation support. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with legal software is preferred. A strong customer service orientation is essential.
