EH&S Specialist III

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Professional to support our ongoing sustainability, compliance, and risk reduction efforts at our Marlborough, MA site.
Key Responsibilities- Recognize, evaluate, and control hazardous workplace conditions to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Take proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors.
- Work with subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company EHS requirements.
- Investigate, analyze, and interpret data from injuries and near-misses to ensure corrective actions are completed on time and all necessary documentation is in place.
- Interact with employees to promote relationships, learn tasks performed, and be known as a resource to employees at the site.
- Audit and evaluate current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Typically requires a university degree.
- 5 years applicable EH&S experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years applicable EH&S experience.
- Required education (including major): BS/BA degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or other related field of study.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory safety or industrial hygiene.
- Familiarity with engineering or research and development environments.
- Experience with ergonomics and manual material handling.
- Experience in managing EH&S issues in a union work environment.
- Previous experience working at an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) site.
- Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.).
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
